Top 10 finish despite puncture during Battle on the Bricks

On Sunday 17th September, Sebastian Priaulx competed in the famous ‘Battle on the Bricks’ at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as part of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The AO Racing team kicked off with a strong pace in the Porsche 911 GT3 Rawr, fondly known as ‘Roxy’, racing their way up from P9 to P4 in the GTD class.

With 45 minutes left during this 2hr 40 minute race and the potential for a podium finish, Roxy took a front left tyre puncture, pushing the team back to P15. Despite this, Priaulx pushed on, maintaining a good pace and finishing the race in 10th place.

Priaulx says: ‘We had a really strong race overall, and did our best to maintain that. Although we were very close to our best finish of the season, the team did a great job with our recovery and quickly got us back out on the track. We always have to be ready for the unexpected, and that's an important part of the experience. This was the second time we brought Roxy out alongside Rexy, and there was a lot of love for them both! Thank you to everyone who watched and supported us.’

Priaulx’s final race of the season will be the 10-hour Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta from 11th – 14th October.
